MHS Homes goes to Appeal over Marlborough Unit

Cllr Mike O'BrienRather surprisingly, MHS Homes have gone to appeal, which is their right, over Medway Councils refusal to grant planning permission on their proposed development. Here is the text of the letter : TOWN & COUNTRY PLANNING ACT 1990

Town & Country Planning (General Development Procedure Order) 1995 (as amended)

APPLICATION NUMBER: MC/09/1373

PROPOSAL: Demolition of existing buildings and construction of eleven new homes with private gardens, formation of estate road and provision of residents and visitors parking

LOCATION: The Marlborough Centre, 41A Maidstone Road, Rainham, Gillingham, Kent, ME8 0DQ

Following a Refusal of planning permission by Medway Council, an appeal has now been made to the Secretary of State, via the Planning Inspectorate, in respect of the above mentioned application.

The appeal is to be decided following an exchange of written statements by the parties concerned and following a site visit by an Inspector.

Any representations you made to the Council when the application was originally being considered will automatically be sent to the Planning Inspectorate. Should you wish to comment further on the appeal it should be made in writing, in triplicate, by 1 July, 2010 (quoting the Inspectorate’s appeal reference number above), to The Planning Inspectorate, Room 3/14 Eagle, Temple Quay House, 2 The Square, Bristol, BS1 6PN.

If the Inspectorate receives representations after the deadline they will not normally be seen by the Inspector and they will be returned. You are able to obtain a copy of the Planning Inspectorate’s booklet “Guide to taking part in planning appeals” from www.planning-inspectorate.gov.uk If you want to receive a copy of the appeal decision you must request this when writing to the Inspectorate.

In the event that this letter is addressed to you as the occupier of the property of which you are not the freeholder, could you please let me know within 7 days the name and address of the person to whom you pay rent, so that I can similarly inform such person of the opportunity to make representations.

You should be aware that these comments will be disclosed to all parties concerned in the appeal process.
